The Danish designer Erik Kirkegaard is best known for his various chairs that he designed in the 1950’s and 1960’s . The Model 49 was designed in 1956 with an upholstered back and only 3 legs , this is the Model 49B which is a later and more developed variant. These chairs were made for Høng Stolefabrik, a high end Danish maker active through the 1940s-1980s.
The chairs are in fantastic original condition with their sculpted teak backs being the main focal point of the design, this curved backrest also offers a great amount of support and comfort for long periods of sitting.
The chairs have had their original leather replaced with vinyl at some point in their life, we are happy to price for reupholstering them in a correct black leather.
56cms at widest point , 51cms width of seat , seat height 41cms , back height 73cms
