A beautiful and all original example of Hans Wegners substantial GE236-4, designed in 1955 for Getama Furniture Company, whom Wegner made some of his best designs for.
The thick wool upholstery is the original, as are the comfortable sprung cushions. The solid oak frame is a key piece of the design, especially with the beautiful ladder back and large legs.
In terms of comfort, the sofa is deeper and better proportioned than most sofas from the era, it’s sprung cushions make for a great support further complimented by the swept back form.
The condition is excellent with minimal wear across the entire piece. Under our care it has benefitted from a deep clean on the frame, and a full upholstery clean.
