A rare and interesting dining set by Dutch jewellery designer, Gijs Bakker. Named the Strip chairs due to their construction utilising connecting ‘strips’ of bent plywood to form the contours of the chair, this set was designed in the early 1970s for Dutch furniture maker Castelijn.
The set presents itself in excellent condition. The chairs have been cleaned and checked for structural stability, the table has had it’s top painted at some point in it’s life in a lovely light blue, we’ve chosen to keep it as in our opinion it suits the design more than the plain Birch plywood top usually seen on these.
Dimensions:
Table:
120cm W
120cm L
75cm H
Chairs:
78cm H
44cm W
50cm D
